*I am no longer shearing Llamas, Alpacas or crossbred angora goats (ie pygoras, nygoras, cashgoras etc...) If you have any questions or concerns or need a referal I would be more then happy to connect you with a shearer who is equiped to handled these animals.*  

Welcome! My name is Emily Chamelin and I have been shearing sheep for the last 10 years. I grew up on a dairy farm in Maryland and my interest in animals quickly led me to raising sheep and learning about all aspects of their care. Shearing soon became not only a challenge but also a great source of enjoyment for me and has quickly evolved into a very productive career. Over the last few years, primarily through word of mouth, I have been able to grow my shearing business to include farmers from all over Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey and West Virginia and have worked on all mannor of sheep breeds as well as Angora Goats, Llamas and Alpacas. My primary goal in doing this job is to provide fiber animal owners with a high quality and affordable shearing experience. I strive to shear every animal in a calm, controlled mannor, limiting cuts and nicks, and doing my part to provide the owner with high quality fleece and fiber and a good experience.

Also please check back soon, I am going to be posting some helpful animal care quick reference sheets to help out those of you who are just beginning your animal care journey. I am hoping to have sheets covering sheep, angora goat and shearing prep as well as preparing a fiber management plan.

What I Do

Chamelin Sheep and Shearing Services was started to provide the highest quality shearing job for all fiber animal owners. I began shearing about 10 years ago, after aquireing a few 4-H lambs. Since then I have continued to learn and fine tune my craft to become a proficient and well respected member of the sheep shearing community.

Shearing is not the only service that  I am able to provide for flock owners though. I am also able to provide any number of the following options to owners including:
